    YWCA of Sweetwater County is pleased to announce they have been awarded grants in the amount of $49,600 from United Way of Southwest Wyoming for the 2019-2020 year. Funding will support two of the agency’s programs; Center for Families and Children (Shelter), and the Financial Empowerment program.     United Way of Southwest Wyoming awarded a $46,000 grant to Food Bank of Sweetwater County for the 2019-20 fiscal year. This grant helps fund operational expenses of The Emergency Food Program that provides emergency food to the low-income community in Sweetwater County. The Emergency Food Program aligns with United Way of Southwest Wyoming’s Basic Needs initiative to provide quality services to support independent living for individuals and families.     A high school trip inspired a seventh-grade teacher to provide the same opportunity for students in her school.     Green River artist Leslie Webster will be featured in the next exhibit at Sweetwater County Library, which will run through Aug. 30. Webster is a self-taught artist, having originally been drawn to the popular painted rocks movement where people leave their colorful creations somewhere for others to discover.     The Golden Hour Senior Center is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to home-bound residents. Melynda Lenling, GHSC home-delivered meal coordinator, said the program provides meals to home-bound residents who are unable to leave their homes. On Mondays through Fridays, regardless of the weather, drivers deliver the meals to the patrons.     For a fourth year in a row, a free summer food program continues to serve the community. Linda Martin, Sweetwater County School District No. 2 nutrition service director, and Leah Kenison, nutrition service assistant director, have implemented the summer food program since 2015.
