The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners selected three area high school seniors for the $1,000 scholarships offered by the county. Amongst those awarded the scholarship is Green River High School student Erik Gwaltney. The commissioners selected Ian Fletcher of Rock Springs High School and Thomas Kodee of Manila for the other two scholarships. Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County earned a three year accreditation in computed tomography from the American College of Radiology according to a recent release from the hospital. According to Medical Imaging Director Tracie Soller, the accreditation is for the new CT scanner the hospital installed last summer. “We have been ACR accredited for CT since 2013,” she said. The Wyoming State Loans and Investments Board awarded a $50,000 grant to Sweetwater County last week to help the county create a plan to attract industrial development near the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport east of Rock Springs. Two Rawlins residents were arrested last week in connection to burglaries in Wamsutter earlier this year. Antonio Pacheco, 26, and Nathan Gallant, 27, were arrested in Rawlins March 21 by the Rawlins Police Department.
