    While mountain bikers hit the trails along the Wilkins Peak Trail System Saturday, a few children had a chance to participate in a bicycle rodeo at Scotts Bottom Nature Area. The Lil' Dirt Devil Bike Rodeo challenged kids to a series of obstacles and tests after they learned about bicycle safety.     Deciding to donate a kidney wasn't a hard decision for one Green River woman. When Rachelle Morris found out her sister's friend Jesse Laughter may need a kidney transplant, she immediately said she would be willing to get tested and see if she was a match.     Visits to Rock Springs and Rawlins last week ended almost perfectly for the Green River High School tennis team. Between the two competitions, the Wolves only lost one match. The team sweep Rawlins Friday. The team will have a break from the road this weekend as the three Cheyenne schools will visit Green River.     The Green River Wolves football team started off the season with a close loss to Lander. Last Friday, Green River traveled to Lander to play its season opener and lost 10-7. After two running plays, the Wolves fumbled the ball on third down and gave the Lander Tigers excellent field position to start their first offensive series.     He may be the new head coach for the Lady Wolves Soccer team, but everyone associated with the program already knows him. Chris Nielsen was officially named the Green River High School Lady Wolves soccer coach last week. Nielsen has been an assistant coach to the Lady Wolves for six years and ran the JV program during that time.     The Lady Wolves swim team took advantage of swimming at their home pool and came out on top of eight other teams attending their meet. On Friday and Saturday, the Green River High School Lady Wolves Swim team competed at home and took first with a score of 312 points. Rock Springs took second with 205 points and Sheridan came in third with 174 points.     It was another great learning experience for the Lady Wolves Volleyball team as they played several teams at a tournament this weekend. The Green River Lady Wolves traveled to Gillette to participate in the Gillette invitational. It was an opportunity for them to play a couple of teams they had never played before and gain experience.     We’re happy to see the Green River City Council take an interest in prohibiting public vaping. We understand vaping, like smoking, is a personal choice and don’t hold it against residents who chose to do so. However, when it comes to public areas like parks or restaurants, we think vapers should follow the same guidelines smokers have to follow.
