    A deer with a drooping, broken antler, that was visibly distressed was helped by a local agency. A couple weeks ago, Green River resident Stan Blake was going into his backyard when he saw an injured buck. “I knew the deer was in distress,” Blake said.     Twenty four hours was all the participants in the live sculpting and 2D competitions were given to complete their work. Both Green River, Sweetwater County and out-of-state artists gathered at the Expedition Island pavilion Friday and Saturday to compete in the Art on the Green competition.     It was a chilly, but wind-free morning Saturday as the runners lined up for the Run With the Horses marathon, half marathon and 10K.     Dropping out of high school was something Amy Sample never really got over. When she dropped out 19 years ago, Sample was in the 11th grade at Green River High School.     A woman accused of abusing a child, who was her ward, was placed on one year of probation. Malonie L. O’Toole, 47, of Green River appeared in the Third District Court of Judge Richard Lavery at a sentencing hearing to three counts of child abuse. In exchange for O’Toole’s guilty plea to a reduced misdemeanor charge of reckless endangering, all of the other charges were dismissed.     A Green River man accused of having intercourse with a 14-year-old girl pleaded not guilty to a felony charge. Marshall L. Mechling Jr., 20, of Jamestown, appeared in the Third District Court of Judge Richard Lavery at an arraignment to second degree sexual abuse of a minor.
