The line was long and the weather was cold, but about 1,100 kids still participated in this year's URA/Main Street Trunk or Treat. Once again, the Union Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 350 Mansface, has pumpkins for sale. Each silhouette represents a life. One that has been lost to domestic violence. Sweetwater County has 11 of those silhouettes, nine woman and two children. These silhouettes are usually put out each October for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Students from Expedition Academy braved the brisk temperatures Friday morning for their community service projects. Pete Rust recently competed in the Wyoming Senior Olympics, which took place in Laramie Aug 2-5. A man who pleaded no contest to multiple charges related to the death of his infant daughter has lost his appeal when he failed to file a brief in time. Jacob Anthony Triplett, 29, of Rock Springs, was sentenced in the Third District Court of Judge Nena James last October.
