This weekend the Lady Wolves basketball team lost both of their conference games by double digits, taking their conference record to 0-5. The Green River High School swimming and diving team not only came in second at conference, they broke some records along the way. During the 4A West Conference meet, Kelly Walsh High School came in first with 422 points, while Green River grabbed second with 379 and Rock Springs High School came in third with 174. The Sweetwater County Democratic Party is now seeking applications for the County Assessor’s position. This position was left vacant after Pat Drinkle, a Democrat, announced her retirement. Southwest Counseling Service will receive a 4,000-square foot building from Jonah Energy LLC. One hundred and forty children descended upon the high school Saturday morning with one common goal- to learn a dance routine. The children ranged in age, from three year olds to 13 year olds, and the Green River High School gymnasium and auxiliary gymnasium were filled with children learning a dance routine from the Wolf Pack Dance Team. Each year, the Green River High School Student Council is challenged with coming up with new ideas for the Make-A-Wish fundraising event. The friendly competition between Green River and Rock Springs raises money for the organization, which is then used to grant children's wishes. The Sweetwater County Commissioners will send a letter to U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke in Washington D.C., opposing the Little Mountain juniper tree removal. The final count is in. With the help of both the Green River and Rock Springs communities, 701 pints of blood was collected with can now be used to save 2,103 adult lives. It was a rough Thursday night for the Green River Lady Wolves basketball team when they took on the Rock Springs Lady Tigers. Starting Feb. 1, the Rock Springs-Sweetwater County will no longer be the name of the local airport. From that date on, it will be known as the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport.
