Green River High School’s theater students are hosting a one-day drama boot camp this Saturday for children in third through seventh grades.     More than 80 volunteers were honored at the Golden Hour Senior Center Friday during a luncheon.     Two Green River High School juniors were selected to participate in the American Legion Auxiliary Wyoming Girls State.   • Pet food donations needed for food bank

    Once again, Green River Animal Control is hosting a pet food drive for the Green River Food Bank. Animal control officer Kim Wilkins said, this is about the fourth year in a row they have hosted the pet food drive. The goal is to help those out who are in need.     The Green River Lady Wolves soccer team traveled to Worland for its tournament last weekend and came home with three wins and one loss. The Lady Wolves finished the tournament in ninth place out of 14 teams competing.     During the Sweetwater County Commissioners meeting, Sheriff Mike Lowell’s budget came under some scrutiny. The Commissioners are requesting a meeting with Sheriff Lowell to discuss the projected budget overage of $291,000.     Last Tuesday, the Lady Wolves soccer team pulled off its first non-conference win against the Evanston Lady Red Devils.     A woman accused of child abuse after allegedly choking a child under 16 years of age could face prison time. Joanna Stephenson, 28, of Green River, appeared in the Third District Court of Judge Richard Lavery at an arraignment to one felony count of child abuse where she pleaded not guilty.
