    The Lady Wolves basketball team has won their last four games, including two non-conference and two conference, and they are setting their sights on more this week. On Thursday, the Lady Wolves took on the Evanston Lady Red Devils in Green River and came out on top, 44-39. They then traveled to Jackson on Saturday where they defeated the Lady Brocs, 54-42.     The speech and debate team took first this weekend in a Jackson tournament. The Green River High School Speech and Debate team competed against eight other teams at this tournament and came out on top with 100 points.     With state taking place this week, the Wolves swimming and diving team was happy to qualify two more. Last week, the team competed in Rock Springs Wednesday night and a second time in Green River Thursday for its last chance meet.     The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Department will probably move forward with the purchase of a reconditioned snowcat. During a recent Sweetwater County Commissioners meeting, Sheriff John Grossnickle asked the board if he could pursue the purchase of a reconditioned Hagglund snowcat from Natrona County.     The Green River Shopko Hometown Store will be closing. Shopko announced more store closures Wednesday and the Green River location was one of the stores named. The estimated closing date given by the company is May 12, 2019. Other Wyoming locations that are closing are Lander, Mountain View, Thermopolis, Greybull and Worland.     Before the Federal government shutdown stopped, residents were asked to help TSA employees at the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport to make ends meet until the shutdown was over.     A grant matched by Sweetwater County will continue to be used to fund two full-time Sweetwater County Emergency Management Agency positions. During the Sweetwater County Commissioners meeting Tuesday morning, the Commissioners unanimously approved a fiscal year 2018 Emergency Management Performance Grant agreement from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security.
