    An unidentified inmate of the Sweetwater County Detention Center attempted to harm himself during a court hearing in Green River Friday morning. According to a media release from the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred in Judge Nena James’ court at about 11:30 a.m. The inmate was removed and transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where he was treated for his injuries and was placed under observation.   • Police department plans junior academy

    County residents between the ages of 12 and 17 have a chance to see how the Green River Police Department operates. The department will host its Junior Citizen’s Academy June 6-9 from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m., and will accept applications to the academy through May 31.     Daggett County Sheriff Jerry Jorgensen resigned from his post Sunday after an investigation into allegations of prisoner mistreatment at the Daggett County Jail.
