    The Wolves Wrestling team had a rough week, but still earned a win and had a few wrestlers win matches throughout the weekend. Clayson Mele continues to be strong at 106, having an undefeated week of competition. Others joining him in that feat are Kade Flores at 120, Dominic Martinez at 113, Kade Flores at 120 and Justin Flores at 138. Kade Knezovich was undefeated at the conference duals in Rock Springs.     Despite a strong showing by the Wolves grapplers in Riverton, the boys ended up with a second-place finish during the annual Ron Thon Memorial tournament. The Wolves ended the tournament with 181 points, placing higher than Thunder Basin High School, Star Valley, Powell and Rock Springs. Kelly Walsh took top honors at Ron Thon, scoring 217.5 points overall.     Twin toddlers and an infant were among those rescued from a downed aircraft Monday night. According to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, the Sweetwater Combined Communications Center received a report of a downed plane at about 6:30 p.m., Monday evening.     The Wolves wrestlers came home with an impressive first-place finish after competing in the Tiger Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, over the weekend. The Wolves scored 223 points during the tournament, edging out Columbia High School, which scored 222 and Kuna High School rounding out the top three with 201.5 points.     A trip to Vernal, Utah, resulted in Green River High School’s grapplers earning a third-place finish at the Tournament of Champions over the weekend. Green River earned 183 points during the tournament, finishing behind Juab High School of Nephi, Utah’s 196 and the Vernal-based Uintah High School’s winning 248 points. The Wolves scored 202.5 points during the tournament, coming up short against Spring Creek High School from Nevada and its tournament-winning 215 points.     While the race director for the Race on the Rock Triathlon will be stepping down, the event will continue. Outgoing race director Traci Ciepiela will be replaced with Cate Miller of Rock Springs.     The search for a Rock Springs resident continues nearly a week after he was reported missing to the Rock Springs Police Department. Terry Meador, 74, was initially reported missing Oct. 25 and was believed to have gone hunting by himself near Pine Mountain south of Rock Springs.     A former Green River resident and longtime mayor of the city died Thursday at his home in Laramie. Richard Waggener was born in Green River Jan. 24, 1930, and would become a key member of the community before leaving the city in 1988. Waggener was elected to the Green River City Council in 1969 and served as Green River’s mayor form 1971 to 1983.
