Brooke Dimick and Skylar Marse welcomed their child Chad Michael Marse at 2:12 a.m., making Chad the first baby born at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for the year.     The Actors’ Mission has recently received donations from the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation and the Thomas and Mary Kourbelas Trust, which will support the organization’s plans to build a blackbox theater in downtown Rock Springs.     The Denver Division of the FBI is warning residents of both Colorado and Wyoming of a phone scam being conducted where the caller identifies themselves as a law enforcement official and asks for money or gift cards to clear supposed warrants and fines.     YWCA of Sweetwater County’s Festival of Trees 2021 kicked off a festive start to the new year and helped raise over $20,000 to help support YWCA clients.     The Wolves wrestling program took on multiple teams over the weekend, competing at meets in Reno, Nevada and Kemmerer. “The team we took to Reno competed well against some top tier competition. As a team we placed 22nd out of 106 teams,” head coach Josh Wisniewski said. At the event, Tommy Dalton took eighth in his 132-pound bracket, which Wisniewski said featured very tough competition.     Basketball fans will have a lot of action to look forward to this weekend with the annual Flaming Gorge Classic. Athletics Director Tony Beardsley said the tournament is larger than it has been in previous years, with 19 girls varsity teams and 18 boys varsity teams participating in the tournament. Overall, with JV, sophomore and freshman teams counted, the tournament hosts 45 girls teams and 42 boys teams from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Colorado. On Monday, Ciner Enterprises agreed to sell a controlling interest in its Ciner Resources Corporation to Sisecam of Istanbul, Turkey. Ciner Resources Corp. owns a 72% limited partner interest in Ciner Resources LP, the soda ash plant west of Green River.     The Sweetwater County Foster Care program’s emergency clothes closet is severely depleted and Peterson Beckner Industries (PBI) has made it a mission to help restock it.
