    The Green River Lady Wolves Basketball team played their first three games of the season over this past weekend in Casper. On Thursday, the team played Sheridan for their first game. The final score was 36 - 53, with the Lady Wolves losing by 17 points. Head Coach Clinton Landon explained that "the team was just a little bit nervous heading into their first game of the season."     Clinton Landon is the new head coach of the Lady Wolves Basketball team, and this is his first year as the head coach. He has been the Junior Varsity coach for the past nine years and has been coaching basketball for 15 years. "The team has a good group of girls that I am excited to coach," said Coach Landon.     The Green River High School Cross Country wrapped up their season during the State tournament this past weekend. The Wolves headed to State in Cheyenne at the Little America Golf Course last Saturday. For the 4A run, there were 13 teams in total that the Wolves ran against at the State Cross Country Championships, including Star Valley, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Sheridan, Jackson Hole, Thunder Basin, Cheyenne East, Evanston, Riverton, Cheyenne Central, Laramie, Campbell County and Rock Springs.     The Green River High School Cross Country team faced more tough competition at Regionals. The Wolves headed to Rock Springs last Friday for Regionals. Green River faced seven other teams, going up against Evanston, Jackson Hole, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Riverton, Rock Springs and Star Valley.     The Green River High School Cross Country team faced competition at home last weekend. The Wolves had a home meet at the Rolling Greens Country Club Golf Course last Friday. Green River faced four other teams, going up against Fort Washakie, Lander, Rock Springs and Manilla, Utah.     The Green River High School Cross Country team faced new competition last week. The Wolves headed for the Shana Ward Memorial meet hosted by Saratoga last Friday. Green River faced a total of 10 other teams, going up against Cheyenne, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Rock River, Rock Springs, Saratoga and Ethete. The Wolves headed to Riverton for the Berry Bryant/Kyle Johnson Memorial CC meet hosted by Riverton last Thursday.
