  • The joys of getting older

    Jack H. Smith, Staff Writer|Nov 5, 2014

It should have been a normal trip to get my haircut, but that was just not the case. In the course of two hours, I came to the conclusion that I’m not only getting old, but I also get all the joys that come with it. It was a Tuesday and I had a long day, but when I decide I need a haircut, I must get it done as soon as possible or I can’t function properly. I used to be much more of a spur of the moment type of person, but with age this has changed. If I commit to something, I like to have it...

They were also able to accomplish the feat in their home gym. “I still felt like we we’re peaking at the right time and I’ve been saying that the past two weeks,” Shantz said. “I told them not to lose determinati...

  • Wolves football: Young team gains valuable experience

    Jack H. Smith, Staff Writer|Nov 5, 2014

While it may not have always shown in the record books, there were plenty of positives for the Green River High School football during the 2014 season. Almost two weeks after their 42-20 win against Worland in their season finale, head coach Don Maggi said the biggest positive he took from the season was that the kids came to practice everyday with a positive attitude and they had a lot of good work ethic. “Attitude and effort were the things I have been talking about the four years I’ve been here,” Maggi said. “Those are the only things...

  • Do you believe in ghosts? I sure do

    Jack H. Smith, Staff Writer|Oct 29, 2014

Do you believe in ghosts? I know to some it’s kind of a asinine question, and for a long time I thought there was no way they could exist. I did grow up watching a lot of scary movies and I must say that the clown from the movie Poltergeist is still something that frightens me to this day. My Grandma Smith once bought me a clown for what must have been my eighth or ninth birthday and I swear that thing would come alive at night and try to smother me. It ended up in the trash without anyone e...

  • Community's downtown is filled with potential

    Jack H. Smith, Staff Writer|Oct 22, 2014

Looking back at my childhood, some of my favorite memories were the weekends I would spend with my Uncle Brad, Aunt Nancy, and their three kids in Green River. It was always an adventure as me and my cousin Brad would hunt snakes, lizards, and sand puppies. We would also get fireworks and blow up army men, climb a little bit too high on Mansface, and many other things that would drive my aunt so crazy that she probably went gray about 20 years to early. As a kid, there was a huge difference...

The first to speak, Alexander said he has a lot of respect for Majhanovich, he just would like to see a change and bring a new perspective and...
