    A murder investigation dating back to 1982 has finally resulted in criminal charges filed after Sweetwater County investigators found evidence linking a serial killer from California to the crime. Tuesday, the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office announced charges were filed against Rodney James Alcala, a 73-year-old man, who became known as the Dating Game Killer after a 1978 appearance on the popular television game show. The glaze used on the building’s windows was damaged as a result of the June hail storm, while ice melt is being blamed for the deterioration impacting the building’s pillars.     An early morning house fire Tuesday was extinguished by the Green River Fire Department, containing it before it could cause serious damage to the home.     Starting Tuesday, hours at the Sweetwater County Library in Green River will be reduced. The library will now be open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from Noon to 5 p.m. Overall, the changes result in the library being opened for five fewer hours than previously.
